And yet in just over three years Android has grown from zero to over half of the mobile market – as the market itself has grown logarithmically. It’s time to stop pretending that this is a problem. Growth like this implies that Android is as close to perfect as it needs to be to take over the world.

If you want to fix something talk to RIM, or Nokia, or Microsoft. Those are people who are having problems moving units.

Wait why iPads? The government is switching to Android devices because they can modify the software to keep top secret information safe. They didn’t use iPhones because Apple said they couldn’t modify iOS (heaven forbid the government trying to make their software more secure).
Instead they are using devices they are not allowed to modify, cost $500 at least (yes they probably get a discount but any manufacturer would give quantity discounts), and have fragile glass screens?
I’m sorry but I want my taxes to go to a military spec tablet that can resist drops and can protect information that poses as a national security risk.

Maybe people are just smart enough to preorder instead of waiting in line for days for a luxury. Some people miss the preorder with Apple but know stores stock a lot.
Android manufacturers don’t usually have to worry about stock because of the vast amountof competition about with the Transformer Prime and Galaxy Nexus as a recent exception.
Point being, Android manufacturers cut off preorders due to the fact that they can not make products that fast, Apple cuts off pre orders because they want people lining up so they get free advertising via the media.

It’s possible that Asus is creating a fabricated reality of demand for the Asus Transformer Prime by purposely producing an amount that does not meet demand. That way, it makes the Prime appear to be more popular than it really is. The whole “I keep running out of supply” or the “retailer keeps selling out” is really just a big crock to me.

Can anyone tell me where they’ve seen the last line of people who were waiting to get their hands on the Prime, and the line was going out the door of the retailer?

Has anyone (that you know of) waited for three nights in the freezing cold outside of Best Buy just to get their hands on a new Prime?
