In the midst of reports that Facebook (FB) users are experiencing outages both in the U.S. and throughout the world, Facebook simultaneously releases an update for the iPhone. The Facebook iPhone app (v. 5.4) must have just hit the app store because, like 5 minutes ago, I don’t remember seeing the update in my list of apps.
The list of features that are part of the update, which I haven’t tried out yet because I’m frantically getting this article published, includes voice messaging and video recording right from within the app. Along with voice and video messaging, Facebook has improved the “Nearby” tab so that you connect with “places” easier.
Here’s the exact update for the Facebook iPhone app v. 5.4:
Share your moments with voice message and video recordings right in the app.
- Send voice messages when you have more to say
- Record and share videos right from the app
- Share and connect with your favorite places using the improved “Nearby” tab
And now that I’ve covered the basics of the new Facebook iPhone app, let me go ahead and update and check out the features. Then I’ll come back to update this with my thoughts.
If you have have the Facebook iPhone app, you should see the update available now.
