We got a pretty good taste of some more leaked iPad Mini news over the weekend with mock up photos published showing the same smaller dock connector as we’ve seen (or heard) rumored to be on the iPhone 5.  This smaller dock connector rumor has caused it’s fair share of shakeups around in the accessories arena as manufacturers scramble to replace current iPhone and iPad accessories.

The images show the iPad Mini to be very thin and with a much smaller bezel around the screen, keeping in line the rumors that what we’ll see with the iPad Mini is really nothing more than an overgrown iPod Touch.  The leaked images also show larger speakers near the docking port.

The iPad Mini was originally rumored to be announced at Apple’s September 12th new conference where it’s expected we’ll see the iPhone 5.  But then last week, those plans apparently changed and the iPad Mini will be getting its own news conference sometime in October, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
