No Easy Day, the book about Seal Team 6 and their mission that took out Osama Bin Laden, will be released into the wild tomorrow, September 4th.
The book release comes right on the heels of September 11th and the 11th anniversary of the worst attack on the United States in our country’s history.
The book No Easy Day, was written by Matt Bissonnette, a member of the elite Seal Team 6 unit, and written under the pseudonym Mark Owen. So far, the book is creating a substantial amount of controversy within the military, and within the ranks of the Navy Seals.
Seal team members are apparently offended that Bissonette took the liberty to write about the events that killed Bin Laden, without consulting first with Seal Team 6, or the Pentagon who ultimately is in charge of authorizing the release of top secret information such as what you’ll find in the book.
Criticism is coming out against Bissonette from other Seal team members saying that he would have best served the special operations community by submitting the book for an official review, even if that meant delaying the release of the book.
And that No Easy Day, now only one day away from being released, could possibly put other service members at risk, especially in the Virginia Beach area where the author is reportedly living.
It’s going to be an interesting story to follow, especially with the controversy that’s building up already around the book. And it won’t surprise me whatsoever if, after we see the author getting rich from the book, that other Seal Team members come in with law suits looking to get a piece of the pie.
So are you planning on purchasing No Easy Day? Or are you one of the masses of people who have already pre-ordered the book from Amazon?
