LG Optimus Vu Phablet Coming To Verizon, Already A Hot Seller

The world of phablets is growing with the LG Optimus Vu, or known within the US as LG Intuition, scheduled to hit Verizon at the end of September for only $199 with a new two year contract.  The LG Intuition is a fat 5 inch smartphone / tablet hybrid that has the Samsung Galaxy Note as its only true competitor (with a Galaxy Note 2 coming).  The phablet sports a huge 5 inch touch screen display, 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor (that means it’s fast…), an 8 megapixel camera (that means it takes nice looking pictures…) and will ride on Verizon’s 4G LTE network.  The Intuition has managed to sell over 500,000 units since March.  So the question is – we know there’s a market for the 10 inch and 7 inch tablet – are we on cusp of a new market breaking wide open with these 5 inch phablets?

The LG phone is a half-baked POS compared to the Galaxy Note 2. I don’t know how any rational person can consider it “competition.” Verizon must be on serious drugs if they think someone will pick the LG phone over the Galaxy Note 2.

That’s interesting! Thanks for posting. I didn’t think the Galaxy Note 2 was even out yet?
