Should Apple Just Make The iPhone 5 Bigger And Forget About iPad Mini?

Apple has a couple of exciting products sitting in their pipeline.  One is the rumored iPad Mini – a scaled down, 7 inch version of the iPad that would be more geared toward destroying any relevance that the Kindle Fire may have in the world, and the other exciting product is the iPhone 5.  Now, Apple has yet to come out and official lay claim to the name “iPhone 5″ nor has it officially confirmed the next generation iPhone.  But aside from the standard rumor mill, the iPhone 5 is pretty sure bet that it will be here within the next couple of months.  But I digress… what I really want to suggest is this – why should Apple even worry about building an iPad mini?  After all, the 7 inch tablet market isn’t really putting to big of a dent in iPad sales, and if Apple really wants to go after that market, then make the iPhone bigger.  Now it doesn’t quite need to be the 7 inches that tablets like the Kindle Fire are currently sized at.  But why not a 5 inch iPhone 5?  I would also guarantee you that whatever is currently being done on the 7 inch tablet can also easily be achieved on a 5 inch tablet / iPhone.  So how about it?  My vote is for a 5 inch iPhone 5, instead of Apple focusing on an iPad mini.
