Pre Paid iPhones, Is This The Future?

Are you one of the millions of iPhone users who can’t stand the fact that you have to sign a two year contract?  Shouldn’t there be an easier way for customers to own an iPhone?  Well, the opportunity to forgo these annoying 2 year contracts just got a whole lot closer.  According to Business Insider, Spring’s Virgin Mobile brand will start selling a pre paid iPhone package starting on July 1.  This move will make Spring the second mobile phone carrier to sell pre paid iPhones in the U.S. – Cricket Communications announced they will begin selling pre paid iPhones on June 22.  All of this eludes to the fact that Apple is serious about getting into the pre paid iPhone market which could expand the iPhone market base by millions of people – and that’s just here in the U.S.  No word yet on how much the Sprint pre paid iPhone packages could cost.  Cricket is charging $399 for the 8GB iPhone 4, $499 for the 16GB iPhone 4S, and a monthly rate of $55 for unlimited talk, text, and data.  So at those prices, are you ready to jump ship over to a pre paid iPhone?
