Just know that you’ve heard about the Facebook tablet here first! While everyone else is talking about a Facebook phone, I’m predicting that not only are we going to see Facebook phones, but we’ll also see Facebook tablets. Some pretty heavy hitters here, here, and here have been speculating about rumors that Facebook is hiring away engineers from Apple who specialized in iPhone and iPad development. But way, you ask, would Facebook have any interest in these engineers? It’s obvious to me… Facebook will be releasing a Facebook Phone and a Facebook tablet in the near future. It is being reported that Facebook’s founder is worried about becoming just another app on a mobile device, something would not be good in the world of the mobile phone. According to sources, “Mark is worried that if he doesn’t create a mobile phone in the near future that Facebook will simply become an app on other mobile platforms,” a Facebook employee said. So it seems obvious to me that we’ll soon see not only a Facebook phone, but also a Facebook tablet as well. And why not? Look at the popularity of the iPhone and iPad.
