Samsung LT170 Android Tablet, Why Is It Selling For $400 USD?

There are some things I just don’t understand when it comes to tablet competitors.  A great example is the new Toshiba LT170 Android tablet that was just released in Italy.  This is a 7 inch Android tablet with a light weight sleek design.  And sure it’s got some cool features like an expandable SD card, and runs the Freescale i.MX53 CPU 1GHz, 512MB RAM, and 8GB SSD internal memory.  But the price tag is €299.00, which is approximately $400 USD.  Can someone tell me who, in their right mind, is going to spend that much money on a new 7 inch Toshiba tablet when you can spend half that and get the Kindle Fire, and just a little bit more than that and get a brand new 16GB iPad 2?  I’m confused…
