This is ridiculous – and one of the downfalls of open source. If you’re going to take a $99 Nook and turn it into a full fledged Android tablet, why not just spend the money and buy and Android tablet? Sure, there’s the whole “bragging rights” thing about being able to hack a poor Nook to death and turn into a ravaging Android based tablet, but that’s not the point.
So for those of you interested in turning a perfectly good Nook into an Android tablet, flip on over to LifeHacker to get the full version – here’s a summary version:
1) Root the Nook
2) Configure your newly rooted Nook
3) Load up e-books
4) Optimize E-Ink display
