According to iMore, who claims they have sources that “have been reliable in the past” (they accurately predicted the iPhone 4S press conference), Apple will be having their iPad 3 press conference on Wednesday, March 7th, 2012.  The iPad 3 event will announced an upgraded iPad that will have a 2048×1536 Retina display, a quad-core Apple A6 system-on-a-chip, and possibly 4G LTE networking.

Of course, these are all speculations at this point since we have yet to hear anything from Apple, and considering that no media outlets have yet to receive an invitation to any event.

For now, the only hard news surrounding the iPad is the drama in China where Chinese authorities are actually pulling the iPad from retailer’s shelves.
