Well that didn’t take long. Less than 24hours after a German court issued a ban on Apple which prevented them from selling their iPad tablet, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4 devices from their website, Apple has managed to get the ban overturned and says that the devices will be available shortly (anyone in Germany to confirm?).
The injunction against Apple was awarded in Germany based on a 3G signaling patent held by Motorola Mobility.
An Apple spokesperson issued a statement on the rulings:
“All iPad and iPhone models will be back on sale through Apple’s online store in Germany shortly… Apple appealed this ruling because Motorola repeatedly refuses to license this patent to Apple on reasonable terms, despite having declared it an industry standard patent seven years ago.”
All of the legal battles circling around Apple throughout the world makes complete sense to me. This is what happens when you are at the top of mountain. Everyone below you gets offended and starts trying to find ways to bring you down.
You know, one thing Samsung and Motorola could do to actually try and legitimately compete against Apple is to produce an amazing, revolutionary product – novel ideal, I know.
