Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime’s Uphill Battle
There are some obvious battles that the upcoming Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is going to face almost immediately. The most obvious is the price. With the new Tranformer Prime starting at $499, they will be competing directly with the king of the tablet market, the iPad 2.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime may end up finding itself in the same situation as the HP TouchPad which tried to compete against the iPad and ultimately failed, and failed big. In fact, things got so bad for the HP TouchPad that HP ultimately discontinued the tablet, even though you can still find the HP TouchPad for sale on Amazon.
