250,000 Xoom Tablets Ship Q1, iPad 2 Sold That Many It’s First Weekend

Yahoo Finance is reporting that Motorola has shipped (not sold, but shipped…) 250,000 Xoom tablets in the first quarter of 2011.  This is, ironically, more than what was expected – analysts predicted that Motorola would only ship 100,000 tablets in Q1.  Since the iPad is the gold standard, let’s put these figures from Motorola in perspective – shall we…. In the first week when the iPad 2 was released, Apple reported that over 300,000 units were sold.

    Honestly, no other tablet maker really has a chance to compete against the iPad 2 in the tablet market right now. Eventually, they’ll make inroads, but currently Apple is simply light years ahead of anything running Andriod.
