Here’s a quick update on the availability of the iPad 2. Apple has dropped the shipping time for the iPad 2 from 4 – 5 weeks, down to 1 – 2 weeks for those who order the iPad 2 through the Apple Store website. The drop in shipping time is apparently a result of improved supply from Apple and an increase in the efficiency of Apple’s logistics. The other option, if 1 – 2 weeks is not good enough, is to go the route of hunting through local retailers like Wal Mart, Best Buy, and Target. But one thing that can make that hunting exponentially easier is a new iPad app called FindOne. According to the iTunes description, FineOne queries various superstore databases to find iPad 2 product availability within the radius of a specified zip code. If products are found, the store phone and address are displayed, along with a list of all the iPad 2 product types currently available in that store. You can download FindOne for free from iTunes.
